When asked, not many people; with the exception of highly successful people; actually make resolutions. Not many people plan out their future on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. Instead, a lot of people let others decide for them how their future will unfold. Parents allow their children to shape their day. Employees allow employers to plan out their week. Even the government steps in to tell you what, when, and where things need to be accomplished throughout your year. Now, I am not saying that some of these things are avoidable. Children have school schedules, projects have deadlines, and we all have laws to follow, however there is still plenty of time throughout the day and the year that we are fully in control of. So if 2016 did not go as planned then the good news is that January 1st, 2017 brought with it a new beginning (truth be told is that any day can be a day of new beginnings).
So with that being said, I encourage you to hit the reset button. Plan to make a change this year that will have a significant impact on your life in 2017 and beyond. One suggestion I encourage all people to do, is to press the reset button on their health. It is never too late, and you are never too old to begin to take better care of yourself. Recently we just heard the news that the beloved actress of Star Wars passed away (Carrie Fisher). She was only 60 years old.
Way too many people are dying years and decades before even the national average life expectancy of 78.8 years. And for many people who are reaching the later years, they find themselves deteriorating both physically and mentally. A small change today can have a lasting positive impact for tomorrow.
At Stanly Wellness Center we are driven to help people have a better future both physically and mentally. I would encourage you to commit 1 day per week to your physical health by adding chiropractic care to your regimen, commit 1 day per week to your mental health by adding in electronics fasting (no cell phone, computer use or TV use). Commit daily to adding in quality supplements like 5000IU’s of vitamin D, a multi-vitamin/ multi-mineral supplement, and quality oil like fish oil or coconut oil. Lastly, commit to adding in some type of physical activity (exercise, gardening, yoga, cycling, walking, etc.).
