Visceral fat…remove the enemy

Working in the healthcare arena with a focus on natural healing, I often times hear from patients that their greatest health concern is their weight. While I can assure patients that weight is merely a side effect of a poorly functioning body and not the abuse of too many fast food burgers, people still want the easy “Magic Bullet” to drop those unwanted pounds. So, over the years, I have tested many different “Magic Bullets” only to be disappointed by their lack luster results. Despite this, I will share with you 2 researched products that have helped some people to drop unwanted belly fat.

Why do I want to share this info with you? Because, the vast majority of people all around the world, perhaps just like you, are carrying a significant amount of excess weight around their mid-section. Not only can this excess belly flab be demoralizing, carrying a devastating physical and emotional toll, but excess abdominal fat is even DEADLIER than you might imagine. In fact, research has shown this type of fat to possess more potentially fatal health risks than any other type of fat—a reality that could very well steal decades of your life well before its time.

So what do these 2 specific researched supplements have to do with belly fat? They both help to avoid fat storage (at least to some degree). The first supplement has to do with fatty acids known as Conjugated Linoleic Acid, and the second is Orlistat which is a potent natural inhibitor of pancreatic lipases isolated from the bacterium Streptomyces toxytricini.

Just how effective are these two supplements at slimming your waistline?

In published double-blind, placebo-controlled human studies, participants were either given conjugated linoleic acid or an imposter (in the form of vegetable oil) daily for 12 weeks.  At the end of the study period, the conjugated linoleic acid group lost 20% (or 400% more fat) of their body fat while the placebo group lost no fat at all. And this was all done without any change in diet and without the implementation of a regular exercise program.

Other studies measuring the effects of conjugated linoleic acid intake in both 60 healthy men and women age 35 to 65 in addition to more than 175 other participants found that subjects receiving conjugated linoleic acid lost 8.7% body fat (78% of which was from the belly region) while the placebo group actually GAINED weight. Subjects were asked not to change their diet or exercise routines during the studies, further validating the intake of conjugated linoleic acid as the only explanation for the vast difference in results between the two test groups.

What about Orlistat? Compared to placebo, orlistat caused significant reduction in weight, BMI, waist circumference, cholesterol and LDL levels. Unfortunately, In the Orlistat group, the GI side effects like loose stools, oily stools/spotting, abdominal pain and fecal urgency were observed.

Clearly, research shows that both of these supplements are effective at burning unwanted belly fat and reducing body weight. So do you trust the science enough to give it a try? As a medical guinea pig, I am willing to suffer through 30 days of adult diapers to test these 2 supplements for you.
